Sauna SATU Insulation - The best solution for sauna insulation.
Insulation is a responsible process when installing a sauna. However, it can be done independently by using insulation panels from SPU Sauna-Satu. This material is ideal for spaces with high humidity and is used for the ceilings and walls of steam baths.
They are thinner than comparable panels and are easy to install. This saves space in the steam room, and the installation itself can be done by a single person.
Step-by-step description of the installation of SPU Sauna-Satu panels:
1. Apply sealant to the cleaned floor surface and place the panel on it using a level. The marked side should face outward, and the grooves should be facing up. Trim the panel on the opposite side.
2. Secure the panel to the wall using screws and anchors.
3. Apply the sealing layer to the side groove and mount the next panel. When installing, pay attention to the "groove-rail" principle.
4. When mounting the panels, make sure that the adhesive covers all intersections of the surface and all passages for pipes, sockets, etc.
5. Remove excess sealant after installing the panels.
6. Use aluminum tape to cover the joint connection.
7. The cutouts in the panels for shelves should be slightly larger than the shelves themselves. Insert the support boards into the wall mesh, fill the joints with sealant, and secure them with dowels.
8. Secure the guide rails for cladding to the wall with screws through the insulation.
9. Cut the industrial laminate 15-20 cm from the floor. Remove the aluminum foil from the area where the base will be tiled.
10. Apply primer to the area cleared of aluminum foil, then place a water repellent on it.
11. Install the ceiling panels using the same principle as for the walls.
For cladding the steam room, wooden profile boards are used. The wood should contain a minimum of tar, be workable, and be resistant to steam and heat. The wood types that best meet these criteria are aspen, thermally treated aspen, alder, and abachi.
