Installation of the HUUM DROP sauna heater should always be carefully planned and carried out in accordance with the installation and operating instructions. As this is an electric sauna heater, professional electrical installation by qualified personnel is absolutely essential. This is the only way to ensure that the connection power, protection, control unit and the entire electrical environment are properly matched. In addition, the heater must be selected according to the size of the sauna and the intended use so that a balanced ratio between heat-up time, temperature development and steam quality can be achieved.
The specified safety clearances are particularly important, as they are directly related to safe operation in the sauna. According to the available information, different minimum clearances apply for the DROP 4.5, DROP 6–7 and DROP 9 versions. Upwards, 1200 mm must be maintained for the DROP 4.5, and 1250 mm for the DROP 6–7 and DROP 9. Downwards, the clearance is 100 mm for all versions. On the sides, the models differ: side A requires 100 mm for the DROP 4.5, 120 mm for the DROP 6–7, and 150 mm for the DROP 9. Side B is 590 mm, 630 mm and 690 mm respectively. Side C is 450 mm for the DROP 4.5, 470 mm for the DROP 6–7 and 500 mm for the DROP 9. These dimensions must be strictly observed so that surrounding wall, ceiling and installation areas remain reliably protected from excessive heat exposure.
The correct selection and arrangement of sauna stones is equally important. Stones sized 5 to 10 cm are intended for this sauna heater. Rounded stones, more angular stones or a combination of both variants can be used. A mixed filling may be beneficial, for example by placing more angular stones in the inner area and rounded stones on the outside. The key point is always that the stones are arranged in such a way that air can circulate and the heating elements are evenly surrounded. Stones that are packed too tightly or are unsuitable can impair airflow, reduce heating performance and increase the load on individual components.
For daily use, the heater may only be operated with compatible control units. Based on the available information, suitable systems include HUUM Uku, selected EOS control units such as ECON D1 and D2, Harvia control units such as C90, Xafir or Xenio, and control units from Abatec. Before commissioning, it must always be checked whether the selected control unit is technically suitable for the respective heater version. In addition, the sauna should be designed so that suitable air circulation and a logical interior layout are possible. Only when installation, stone filling, control unit and sauna room are all properly matched can the HUUM DROP deliver what it was designed for: fast heat-up, long-lasting warmth and especially fine, pleasant steam at a high level.
